I worked with a three person remote team to think through the scope, interactions and details of a community based badge design. We designed a hypothetical badge system using content submitted by Design for America. The purpose of the project was to think through the interactions necessary for a badge system supported by a community. Particularly, we were interested in creating a system where badges were both created and assigned by community members, providing a means for learners to engage and deepen their learning outcomes. The design won the 2012 Digital Media and Learning Badges for Lifelong Competition and received a maximum funding grant.
